With Be My Eyes Groups, blind or low vision users can build their own customized network of known volunteers, such as friends or family members, who will be called by the user instead of an unknown volunteer. The group can be called to assist in more personal everyday tasks, like reviewing paper mail, reading private documents such as financial statements, bank communications or medical prescriptions. You can invite these known individuals to join your group by creating a group and sending them an invite. When you make a call to the group, the Be My Eyes platform will randomly select one of the group members to answer.
How it works
To Create a Be My Eyes Group for friends and family, click on “My Groups” in the Be My Eyes App homepage and follow the instructions on the screen. After you have created and named your first Group, you will be able to send an invite link to your friends and family members. You will find the link at the end of the group creation process.
Once you’ve assembled your trusted circle, just press the Be My Eyes Groups button to connect with the first available person who is known to you. You can enter up to 20 people in your circle and have up to 5 different groups on Be My Eyes.
Just like the other Be My Eyes features such as Service Directory and Be My AI, our Groups feature is free of charge.
Remember to always have your app updated to the latest version.
