Calling Volunteers
If you need visual assistance during the night, don't worry. You can connect to a Be My Eyes volunteer at any time of the day. Volunteers can only receive calls in their daytime hours, which is 8 AM to 9 PM in their local time zone. Because we have volunteers all over the world, there's always a volunteer for whom it is day time that we can connect you with. In practice, this means that if you're located in the US, speak English, and make a call during the night, you will get connected to a volunteer in e.g. the UK or Australia where it is day time. You will still always be connected to someone speaking the same language as you.
If your primary language is not commonly spoken across the world, it will be a little more difficult for us to find a speaker located in a different time zone. It can therefore be helpful to add one or more secondary languages.
Calling companies and organisations in the Service Directory
You can call Service Directory partners during their opening hours. Opening hours are localized into your time zone and vary depending on the company or organisation. You can check out the opening hours of a specific company in their Service Directory profile.
