When you receive a Be My Eyes call, it will appear as a notification on your device. You therefore have to enable notifications to receive calls. If you didn't enable notifications during the signup, you can enable the through your phone settings - just select Be My Eyes from the list in your phone settings. Here, you can also give access to your microphone, if you didn't give access when you signed up. Be My Eyes needs access to your microphone for you to be able to communicate in a call.
Besides the call notifications, Be My Eyes sends you two types of notifications:
- Push notifications are used for Community Stories to notify you when a new story gets published.
- Email notifications include occasional email updates about new Be My Eyes features or announcements we think you'll appreciate.
You can change your Notifications preferences at any time directly in the Be My Eyes Settings.
To change your Push notifications preferences, follow these steps:
- In the Be My Eyes app Settings, select "Notifications".
- Navigate to "Push notification" section.
- Select "Community Stories" switch button, then double-tap to toggle the setting ON or OFF.
To change your Email notifications preferences, follow these steps:
- In the Be My Eyes app Settings, select "Notifications".
- Navigate to "Email Notifications " section.
- Select "Be My Eyes Updates" switch button, then double-tap to toggle the setting ON or OFF.
