For moments when you need to stabilize an image, zoom in, or just take a few extra moments to analyze the task at hand — the in-app Snapshot tool is for you. Now, you can take a quick snapshot on the agent app which will be automatically deleted after the call. You can take single snapshots or multiple snapshots, preview them, and analyze them further to provide enhanced customer support for your customers. This tool can be incredibly useful if the customer is having problems stabilizing the camera or needs you to focus or zoom in on hard-to-read text.
Taking Snapshot in the Agent Web App
Taking snapshots and swiping through them is simple, just click the camera icon when taking a Be My Eyes call to take an initial snapshot. The image will open in full-screen preview automatically. If you take multiple snapshots, you can access them in the right sidebar of the screen and scroll through them once enlarged. The user will still be on the call while you are doing this, and they won’t need to do anything other than wait patiently while you analyze the images. You can retake snapshots at any time to ensure that you understand the issue fully. Once you are ready and have successfully accomplished the task at hand, you can choose to return from the snapshot preview to the video call view.
Safeguarding user privacy - Are the images stored?
Snapshots taken during the call will NOT be saved anywhere, and will immediately be deleted upon completing the call.
Best practice on how to communicate with blind users
Let the blind user know you are taking a snapshot for a better readout. They might have concerns about privacy, ensure them that the snapshots are NOT stored and will be deleted after the call.
