Can you perform device actions hands-free?
Yes. Users can use Meta AI to perform various device actions. You can learn via this link, or learn more in Home, in the “control your smart glasses hands-free” education card.
How far can I be from my phone while using the Meta Ray-Ban?
For optimal call quality and connectivity, we recommend keeping your phone in close proximity to your device. Proximity helps maintain strong Bluetooth connectivity between the glasses and your phone, which is essential since your phone is used to connect and route calls. Having your phone within reach is also important in cases of low battery and other situations where you might need it.
Is there a way to adjust the speaking rate of Meta AI?
Yes. Meta AI can be adjusted between a range of 0.75x to 1.75x. You can update your preferences by navigating to Meta View app settings, device settings, Meta AI, and language and voice.
Where are the cameras?
The camera is located on the left of the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, at the top most corner. It is a small circle about 3mm (smaller than your pinky) and has a ridge.
The equivalent lens on the right frame of the glasses is the capture LED signal.
Note: When taking a photo, users do not need to turn their face to get the subject in the frame of the left camera. Instead, users can point their head in the direction of the subject and keep the glasses level
Do the cameras provide any external facing signal when in use?
Yes. The camera on the right frame of the glasses is used to display a bystander LED light when a user captures a photo or video.
Where is the camera capture button located?
The camera capture button is located on the right Ray-Ban Meta Glasses arm, at the top, near the hinge (not the tactile logo).
How do Ray-Ban Meta Glasses interact with my phone? What audio will come through my glasses vs. my phone?
Bluetooth connection will be used to allow a users' phone to find and connect to the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses. Once a user completes device pairing via the Meta View app, all audio should come through the glasses.
Why is audio coming only from my phone speaker, on my iPhone/iPad and not my Ray-Ban Meta Glasses ?
If you're experiencing audio playing through your iPhone or iPad speaker instead of your Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, it's possible that your device's settings are directing the audio to the phone speaker by default. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps to Adjust Call Audio Routing Settings:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Call Audio Routing on your iPhone or iPad.
- Select Automatic or Bluetooth Headset.
If Speaker is selected, your device will default all call audio to the phone speaker.
By setting the Call Audio Routing to Automatic or Bluetooth Headset, your calls and audio should automatically route through your Ray-Ban Meta Glasses when they are connected.
Where is the touchpad located?
The touchpad is located on the right Ray-Ban Meta Glasses arm, at the top, near the hinge (not the tactile logo).
How can I download the Meta View app?
Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your smartphone. Search for “Meta View” in your store and click the download button.
Once you have downloaded the Meta View app you will need to open it and login to your Meta account. If you do not have a Meta account then the app will take you through the process of creating one.
Device Unboxing
How do I open the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses box?
Locate the long edge of the box with a perforated seam. Pull the tab across the box to remove the tear strip, which opens the box. Gently push the box open once the perforated tear strip has been removed.
What is included in the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses box?
The box includes a quick start guide, scannable QR code for the Meta View app, safety and warranty guide (view guide here), a cloth to clean the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, the glasses case, and the glasses inside the case.
Note: The case should come with some level of charge (although this could vary). You can use any standard USB-C cable to charge your glasses.
How do the case and Ray-Ban Meta Glasses work together? Do I need to charge one or both?
The case is a chargeable case that charges the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses. If the case is plugged in with a USB-C charger and the glasses are docked in the case, users can go to the Meta View app, navigate to settings, and under device settings discover the charge level and/or status of the case.
Where is the pairing button on the case?
The pairing button is located about half an inch or 1 cm from the charging port towards the bottom of the case. It is slightly embossed, and tactile when pressed.
Where is the protective tab? What if it is no longer there?
There is a small plastic film located in between the folded arm and Ray-Ban Meta Glasses frame, under the nose bridge. Users may or may not be able to locate this because it’s small and could fall out. Tab removal is not essential for the subsequent onboarding step.
What are the steps to pair with Bluetooth? Where can I find pairing code information?
Select Ray-Ban Meta as your device. Press and hold the pairing button on the back of the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses case for around 7 to 8 seconds to put your glasses in pairing mode. Leave the glasses in their case throughout the pairing process. Once your glasses are detected by the Meta View app, you will be prompted to connect. To enable this connection, select connect.
If you receive the error message “can't find glasses” 10 to 15 seconds after you press the pairing button on the back of the case, select “yes, I already removed the tab”, select “no case?”, and follow the instructions. This flow will work even though you have a case.
During pairing, you may be prompted to accept permissions that enable your device to work, such as bluetooth. During the bluetooth pairing request, you will be asked to confirm a code. You can skip this step and select “Pair.”
In order for Meta View to pair to your glasses, you will be asked to connect your glasses over WiFi. You may also be prompted to update the software on your glasses. If you are asked, accept the update and leave your glasses in the case during the update process.
At the end of the pairing process, the Meta View app will tell you to remove the glasses from their case and put them on, and the app will take you on a tour of the various features of the glasses.
Note: If you need to re-pair your glasses, visit the bluetooth settings in your smartphone, locate the device named “RBM xxx’”, if listed, and click “Forget Device”. Place your glasses back in their case and locate the small button half an inch below the USB-C port. You will feel an embossed symbol. Press and hold this button for 5 seconds to put your glasses in pairing mode. Then simply repeat the pairing process described above.
Note: Once pairing is complete, your glasses will act as the audio output device instead of your phone.
