It is not currently possible to change or customize your availability hours in Be My Eyes.
When a blind or low-vision user requests assistance, the app sends a notification to a group of volunteers (typically around 10). The first available volunteer who answers the call is connected. Connection times may vary from instant to several seconds or longer, and a longer connection time does not necessarily mean that no volunteers are available.
Calls are matched anonymously based on language and time zone. Volunteers receive calls in their native language and only during their local daytime hours, defined as 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The app automatically syncs with the time zone set on your device, so there is no need to manually update your time zone when traveling.
If you are unable to answer a call, you can simply ignore the notification — the request will be routed to another available volunteer.
