Low video quality is caused by a poor internet connection - it could be on yours or the recipient's side. Make sure that you have a good internet connection and ask the volunteer to do the same. If you can't resolve the issue, try calling a different volunteer.
You need to be connected to the internet in order to make video calls through Be My Eyes. You can either use Wi-Fi connection or your mobile data plan.
As Be My Eyes is a video service, it requires a good internet connection to be able to transfer the video feed. If the connection is poor, it can result in a blurry or lacking image. If you experience this, please check that you have a strong internet connection. When in a call, Be My Eyes relies on the internet connection of both parties. So, even though you have a strong internet connection, the call might be slow because of the volunteer's poor connection.
Quick things to try:
- Move closer to your router, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see which is stronger.
- Close other apps or programs that use a lot of bandwidth (video streaming, large downloads, other calls).
- If other devices on your network are streaming or downloading, pause them during the call.
- If the problem continues, end the call and try calling a different volunteer.
