If you're using one of the social login option (Google/Facebook/Apple) and the application gets stuck on "Waiting for a response from ...", it is most likely due to a problem with how the protocol Be My Eyes uses is registered on Windows. Fixing it requires a few manipulations:
Windows 10
- Open Settings (Win + I).
- Click Apps, then select Default apps from the sidebar.
- Scroll down and click Choose default apps by protocol.
- In the list that appears, find the protocol you want (bme).
- Click the app shown to the right of that protocol, and in the pop-up choose the app you want to set as default.
- Close Settings—the change takes effect immediately.
Windows 11
- Open Settings (Win + I).
- In the left pane, click Apps, then choose Default apps.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Choose defaults by link type.
- In the “Link type” list, locate the protocol you want (bme).
- Click the icon or app name to its right, then select your preferred application from the list.
- You can close Settings once you’re done—the new default is applied right away.
Be sure to keep your app updated to the latest version.
