System requirements

• A Mac with Apple Silicon or an Intel processor
• A supported version of macOS
• Internet connection
• Webcam (for the “take a picture” function)
• Microphone and speakers or a headset

Download and install

You can install Be My Eyes for Mac two ways:

• Direct download (.dmg) — From the Downloads page, choose the Apple Silicon or Intel build for your Mac, open the .dmg, and drag Be My Eyes into your Applications folder.

Then open Be My Eyes and sign in or create an account — see Logging In & Creating an Account on Desktop. You may be asked to grant permissions the first time you use certain features — see Mac: Managing Permissions.

Screen reader compatibility

Be My Eyes for Mac is designed to work with VoiceOver, the screen reader built into macOS.

Updating the app

The app will update automatically when restarted.
