If you're using one of the social login option (Google/Facebook/Apple) and the application gets stuck on "Waiting for a response from ...", it is most likely due to a problem with how the protocol Be My Eyes uses is registered on Windows. Fixing it requires a few manipulations:

Windows 10

1. Open Settings (Win + I).
2. Click Apps, then select Default apps from the sidebar.
3. Scroll down and click Choose default apps by protocol.
4. In the list that appears, find the protocol you want (bme).
5. Click the app shown to the right of that protocol, and in the pop-up choose the app you want to set as default.
6. Close Settings—the change takes effect immediately.

Windows 11

1. Open Settings (Win + I).
2. In the left pane, click Apps, then choose Default apps.
3. Scroll to the bottom and click Choose defaults by link type.
4. In the “Link type” list, locate the protocol you want (bme).
5. Click the icon or app name to its right, then select your preferred application from the list.
6. You can close Settings once you’re done—the new default is applied right away.

Be sure to keep your app updated to the latest version.
