Each Be My Eyes function has a global keyboard shortcut — it works even when another app is in focus. Triggering a function describes what you gave it and opens a chat for follow-up questions. You can reassign any shortcut in Settings.
Function shortcuts (free)
| Function | What it does | Shortcut |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshot | Describes your current screen (the app hides itself first) | Ctrl+Alt+S |
| Image | Describes an image file you choose (.png, .jpg, .gif) | Ctrl+Alt+I |
| Clipboard | Describes the image on your clipboard | Ctrl+Alt+C |
| Take picture | Describes a photo from your webcam (or phone camera if signed in on mobile) | Ctrl+Alt+W |
Navigating with the keyboard
- Tab / Shift+Tab move between controls; arrow keys move within a list or group; Space / Enter activates the focused item.
- In a chat: from the text field press Shift+Tab to reach the messages; Up/Down move between them; Home/End jump to first/last.
- Copy a description: focus the message and press Ctrl+C, or open the context menu (Menu key or Shift+F10) and choose Copy text to clipboard.
