Be My AI describes images and screens using AI, and lets you ask follow-up questions in a chat. On desktop you start a description with one of the quick functions, then the chat opens so you can dig deeper.
Ways to get a description
- Describe your screen — captures and describes what is currently on screen (the app hides itself first).
- Describe an image file — choose a .png, .jpg, or .gif from your computer.
- Describe your clipboard — describes an image you have copied to your clipboard.
- Take a picture — uses your webcam; if you are signed in to Be My Eyes on your phone too, you can use your phone camera instead. For example, use it before a video call to check how you look — framing, centering, and lighting.
Each of these has a keyboard shortcut — see Windows: Keyboard Shortcuts.
Asking follow-up questions
After the first description, the chat opens. Type a question to learn more about the same image or screen.
Copying a description
Focus the message you want and use your platform’s copy command, or open the message’s context menu and choose Copy text to clipboard. See Windows: Keyboard Shortcuts for the exact keys.
Good to know
- One image per chat. You cannot add a second photo to an existing Be My AI chat on desktop — start a new chat with the new image.
- Internet required. Be My AI needs an internet connection. A weak connection can slow responses; if it is unusually slow, try switching networks.
- Sharing from other apps. You cannot share a file directly from another app into Be My AI on desktop. Instead, copy the image to your clipboard and use Describe clipboard.
